Class Descriptions

(Ages 3-12)

 

Art Classes

 

The “Little Picasso” and "Tween Picasso" art classes will encompass basic math concepts .

Your child will learn how to paint, sculpt,

color, and draw while also being challenged

mathematically. They will be asked to use

process of elimination to add and subtract,

and will be asked to illustrate quantities

in their artwork.

 

Cooking Classes

 

The “Little Chef” and "Tween Chef" cooking

classes will promote kitchen safety in all

three levels.

 

In the level one class, your child will learn about hot surfaces and why we shouldn’t touch them. They will also learn how to make food that doesn’t require any kitchen appliances (sandwiches, salads, snacks, etc.), additionally they will learn how to prepare baked goods.

*They will NOT be using the ovens for baked goods. Their instructor will send them home with the pre-made goods to be baked at home.*

 

In the level two class, kitchen safety will be continued and your child will begin learning how to use kitchen appliances. They will start preparing simple meals (pasta, chicken nuggets, eggs, etc.). They will also learn how to prepare and bake pastries.

 

In the level three class, kitchen safety will be continued as well as the usage of kitchen appliances. In this class, your child will learn how to cook more detailed meals (meatloaf, fettuccine alfredo, gumbo, etc.). They will continue to work on preparing and baking pastries as well.


 

Dance

 

The Dance "healthy living" classes will

promote healthy eating and

daily routines. Each class will

serve as a fun, action-packed, dance class

with a 10-minute informational period to

discuss eating habits, one healthy recipe

(a recipe handout will be given to each

child), and any questions or concerns about

health. Dances will be choreographed based on the genre focus of the week and will promote stamina and developing rhythm. Each one week cycle will present a rotating genre.

 

Music

 

The “Little Mozart” and "Tween Mozart" classes will provide a general music education to your child. They will learn about rhythms and time signatures, recognizing

notes/reading music, and various music genres.

 

Intro to musical instruments begins in the level two

class and continues in the level three class. Each one

month cycle will present a rotating genre and/or

instrument focus.

 

Language

 

Language classes will be available in both Spanish

and French as part of our language integration

program. In this class, students will be spoken to

completely in the foreign language with descriptions in English when necessary. This class will present books, videos, and games in the foreign language of their choosing. 

 

(Ages 6 to 35 months)

 

 

Baby Mozart

 

The "Baby Mozart" classes will give your baby the opportunity to play with, and listen to, percussion-based instruments. Everything from maracas to xylophones will be played to your child with sounds from all over the world. (Each week a new genre will be

introduced.)

 

Baby Picasso

 

The "Baby Picasso" classes will encourage

the exploration of new textures and colors.

Your baby will get to finger paint, color,

draw, and explore with clay in this Picasso

inpired art class. 

 

Baby Learning

 

The "Baby Learning" classes will introduce letters, numbers, new objects, and animals to your child. Each day your child will be presented with a different lesson to help expand their academic development.
